MODEL & SITE VISIT

Having already been in Ayrshire for several days the previous week and taken lots of photos of the site I then decided to embark on a mad rush to get my final model finished so I could return to photograph it on site.

I had a pretty good idea in my head of the kind of photos I wanted to take having been inspired yet again by Andrew Geller.

My model is a skeletal structure made out of balsa wood on a base of cedar cladding. I wanted to capture the light shinning through the space at different times of day – taking advantage of the amazing west coast sunset. Getting photos of the model amongst the sand and marram grass in the dunes was also on the list.

Having made the 150 miles trip I decided to take advantage of the Ayrshire countryside and get some shots of my model in other locations – showing the possibility for the concept being adapted to other sites in the future.

The images will form a small flip book to go alongside my presentation board.
