AN ADDITIONAL DETAIL

After eliminating the geometric glass aspect to my design due to practicality issues in manufacturing I began working on coming up with an additional feature to take its place.

I have previously done research on the hours of daylight outside of 9-5 in different cities throughout the year. After collating this information in graphs I realized they produced some interesting linear shapes.

The purpose of the original geometric glass was to give another dimension to the shape and allow the users view to be broken up slightly. Being a space for reflection the fragmenting of the view represents the break down of thoughts – key to the reflection process.

Using the data from the hours of daylight I created a wooden detailing that will be specific to each city (based on that city’s hours of daylight outside of 9-5).
